Ingredients

  • 225g 8 oz Plain white flour (we use Allinson) Plain white flour
  • 25g 1 oz Cocoa powder
  • 100g 3½ oz Half Spoon granulated sugar Half Spoon granulated sugar
  • 2tsp 2tsp Baking powder
  • ¼tsp ¼tsp Bicarbonate of soda
  • 150ml 5⅛ fl oz Sour cream
  • 2 2 Egg(s) (free range)
  • 1tsp 1tsp Vanilla extract (we use Nielsen-Massey) Vanilla extract
  • 100g 3½ oz Butter (unsalted) light and spreadable
  • 1tbsp 1tbsp Milk

The Method Enter Bake mode

  1. Classic mode Step 1

    Pre heat the oven to 200°C, (fan 180°C, gas mark 6). Line a cupcake tray with 12 cupcake cases.

  2. Classic mode Step 2

    Place all of the ingredients in a mixing bowl and beat well with a wooden spoon until smooth. Divide between the cupcake cases and bake for 15-20 minutes until firm to the touch.

  3. Classic mode Step 3

    Allow to cool in the tin for five minutes then cool on a wire rack.
