Ingredients

  • 225ml 7⅝ fl oz Warm water
  • 200g 7⅛ oz Strong white bread flour (we like Allinson) Strong white bread flour
  • 200g 7⅛ oz Very strong wholemeal bread flour (we like Allinson) Very strong wholemeal bread flour
  • 150g 5⅜ oz Streaky bacon rasher(s) cubed, fried and cooled
  • 1tbsp 1tbsp Sage leaves fresh, finely chopped
  • 1tbsp 1tbsp Sea salt
  • 1tsp 1tsp Easy bake yeast (we like Allinson)

The Method Enter Bake mode

  1. Classic mode Step 1

    Put the ingredients into the bread maker baking pan in the order specified for your particular model (see manufacturer’s handbook). Set to the basic white program.

    • 1tbsp 1tbsp Sage leaves fresh, finely chopped
    • 1tbsp 1tbsp Sea salt
    • 1tsp 1tsp Easy bake yeast (we like Allinson)
  2. Classic mode Step 2

    Remove the dough from machine and knead until smooth.

  3. Classic mode Step 3

    Shape the dough into an oblong and place into a 900g/2 lb greased loaf tin.

  4. Classic mode Step 4

    Leave to prove until double in size.

  5. Classic mode Step 5

    Brush with water and sprinkle on some more dried sage. Bake at 190°C (170°C, 375°F, gas mark 5) for 30 minutes.
