There is a fantastic flavour and texture combination with these buns due to the bulghar wheat, oats and polenta used in this recipe. What could be easier than using your bread maker to form the dough then shaping and baking the rolls ready to enjoy.

Ingredients

  • 250ml 8½ fl oz Warm water
  • 300g 10⅝ oz Strong white bread flour (we use Allinson) Strong white bread flour
  • 50g 1⅞ oz Bulghar wheat
  • 50g 1⅞ oz Porridge oats
  • 50g 1⅞ oz Polenta
  • 50ml 1¾ fl oz Honey
  • 2tsp 2tsp Sea salt
  • 1 1 Easy bake yeast sachet 7g

The Method Enter Bake mode

  1. Classic mode Step 1

    Put all of the ingredients into the bread maker baking pan in the order specified for your particular model (see manufacturer’s handbook). Set to the basic white program.

  2. Classic mode Step 2

    To make the rolls remove the dough from machine and knead until smooth. Shape the dough into 10 rounds. Alternatively, you could set your bread machine to bake a white loaf if preferred.

  3. Classic mode Step 3

    Place onto a greased baking sheet and leave to prove until double in size. Brush with water and top with the oats.

  4. Classic mode Step 4

    Bake at 190°C (170°C fan, gas mark 5) for 15 – 20 minutes.
