Ingredients

  • 450ml 15¼ fl oz Warm water
  • 1tsp 1tsp Unrefined golden caster sugar (we like Billington's) Unrefined golden caster sugar
  • 1tsp 1tsp Salt
  • 2tbsp 2tbsp Sunflower oil
  • 1tbsp 1tbsp Malt extract
  • 200g 7⅛ oz Country grain bread flour (we like Allinson) Country grain bread flour
  • 200g 7⅛ oz Strong white bread flour (we like Allinson) Strong white bread flour
  • 200g 7⅛ oz Rye flour
  • 75g 2¾ oz Porridge oats medium
  • 50g 1⅞ oz Sunflower seeds
  • 1tsp 1tsp Easy bake yeast (we like Allinson) Easy bake yeast

The Method Enter Bake mode

  1. Classic mode Step 1

    Put the ingredients into the bread maker baking pan in the order specified for your particular model (see manufacturer’s handbook). Set to the basic white program. Alternatively, for hand baking mixing together by hand until it forms a dough.

    • 2tbsp 2tbsp Sunflower oil
    • 1tbsp 1tbsp Malt extract

  2. Classic mode Step 2

    Remove the dough from machine (if using a bread maker) and knead until smooth.

  3. Classic mode Step 3

    Shape into a large oblong loaf, slash the top with a knife and place onto a greased baking sheet.

  4. Classic mode Step 4

    Leave to prove until double in size. Bake at 190°C (170°C fan, gas mar 5) for 30 minutes.
