Ingredients

  • 200g 7⅛ oz Milk chocolate chips broken into pieces
  • 100g 3½ oz Dark chocolate 60% cocoa solids, broke into pieces
  • 110g 4 oz Butter (unsalted)
  • 50g 1⅞ oz Unrefined dark muscovado sugar Unrefined dark muscovado sugar
  • 110g 4 oz Shortbread biscuits broken up
  • 110g 4 oz Glacé cherries
  • 75g 2¾ oz Hazelnuts whole, roasted
  • 75g 2¾ oz Pecan nuts roughly chopped
  • 1 1 Maltesers small pack, roughly chopped

  1. Classic mode Step 1

    Melt the chocolate, butter and sugar in a bowl over a pan of simmering (not boiling) water or in a microwave oven.

    • 110g 4 oz Butter (unsalted)
    • 50g 1⅞ oz Unrefined dark muscovado sugar Unrefined dark muscovado sugar
  2. Classic mode Step 2

    Stir in the rest of the ingredients.

    • 110g 4 oz Shortbread biscuits broken up
    • 110g 4 oz Glacé cherries
    • 75g 2¾ oz Hazelnuts whole, roasted
    • 75g 2¾ oz Pecan nuts roughly chopped
    • 1 1 Maltesers small pack, roughly chopped
  3. Classic mode Step 3

    Turn into a 18cm round cake tin lined with non stick baking paper, pressing down gently. Leave to set at room temperature until firm.

  4. Classic mode Step 4

    Once fully cooled and set, remove the cake from the tin and peel away the lining paper. Cut into thin slices and serve.
