Valentine’s Chocolate Heart Biscuits Ingredients

100 grams Unsalted Butter softened
100 grams Golden Caster Sugar (Billington's) Golden Caster Sugar (Billington's)
125 grams Plain White Flour (Allinson Nature Friendly) Plain White Flour (Allinson Nature Friendly)
50 grams Cocoa Powder
1 Free Range Eggs medium Free Range Eggs

How to make Valentine’s Chocolate Heart Biscuits

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C and line 2 baking sheets with baking parchment. method tip
  2. Place the butter, sugar and flour into the bowl of a food processor or mixer and blend until you get fine crumbs, add the egg and mix until you get a stiff dough. method tip
  3. Bring the dough together into a ball, wrap in cling film and chill in the fridge for about 20 minutes
  4. Lightly dust the work surface with flour and roll out the dough until it is the thickness of a £1 coin. Then cut out hearts shapes using a heart shaped cutter. method tip
  5. Place the biscuits on a baking tray and place in the oven to bake for about 10-12 minutes. Remove from the oven and leave to cool on a wire rack
  6. Whilst the biscuits are cooling roll out the icing on a surface dusted with icing sugar and using smaller heart cutters, cut out some heart shapes. When the biscuits are cool use a little water to stick the icing to the biscuits.
