This is a delicious rich moist chocolate cake. This cake has an indulgent chocolate topping. For a special occasion try decorating with chocolate dipped orange rind!

Rich Moist Chocolate Cake Ingredients

150 ml Sunflower Oil
150 ml Carton Plain Yoghurt
5 tbsp Marmalade
175 grams Light Muscovado Sugar (Billington's) Or Dark Muscovado Sugar Light Muscovado Sugar (Billington's)
3 Free Range Eggs Medium sized Free Range Eggs
225 grams Self Raising White Flour (Allinson Nature Friendly) Self Raising White Flour (Allinson Nature Friendly)
2 tbsp Cocoa Powder
1 tsp Bicarbonate Of Soda

How to make Rich Moist Chocolate Cake

  1. Preheat the oven to 170°C/fan 160C/gas mark 3. Grease and line a 20cm (8 in) round deep cake tin. Beat together the oil, yoghurt, marmalade, sugar and eggs in a large bowl. method tip
  2. Sift together the dry ingredients and beat into the cake mixture. method tip
  3. Spoon into the preared tin and bake for 1½-1¾ hours. method tip
  4. Cool in the tin for 10 minutes then turn out on to a wire rack to become cold. method tip
  5. Melt the chocolate and butter in a bowl over hot (not boiling) water and cool until thickened. method tip
  6. Spoon over the cake and spread with a knife to give a swirled effect.
