Ingredients

150 grams Butter unslated, softened
150 grams Billington's Golden Caster Sugar
3 Egg beaten
½ tsp vanilla extract
150 grams Allinson Nature Friendly Self Raising Flour
30 ml Milk

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 200C/180C, 400F/Gas 6. Grease a 15cm/6in square cake tin.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla essence, flour and milk together until smooth.
  3. Spoon the mixture into the tin and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until springy to the touch. Leave to cool on a wire rack before decorating.
