Ingredients
| 150 grams | Butter unslated, softened | |
| 150 grams | Billington's Golden Caster Sugar | ![]() |
| 3 | Egg beaten | |
| ½ tsp | vanilla extract | |
| 150 grams | Allinson Nature Friendly Self Raising Flour | ![]() |
| 30 ml | Milk |
Method

- Preheat the oven to 200C/180C, 400F/Gas 6. Grease a 15cm/6in square cake tin.
- In a large bowl, beat the butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla essence, flour and milk together until smooth.
- Spoon the mixture into the tin and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until springy to the touch. Leave to cool on a wire rack before decorating.
