Cheese & Onion Bread Ingredients

900 grams Strong White Bread Flour (Allinson) Strong White Bread Flour (Allinson)
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Golden Caster Sugar (Billington's) Golden Caster Sugar (Billington's)
2 tsp Dried Active Yeast (Allinson) Dried Active Yeast (Allinson)
4 tbsp Olive Oil
550 ml Water Warmed
4 Spring Onions Finely chopped
2 tbsp Fresh Parsley Finely chopped
50 grams Cheddar Cheese Grated

How to make Cheese & Onion Bread

  1. Preheat the oven to 200ºC/ fan 190ºC/ Gas 6.
  2. Sift the flour, salt and Golden Caster sugar into a bowl and stir in the yeast. Mix the oil and water together. Make a well in the centre of the flour mixture and stir in the liquid. Bring together with a round bladed knife.
  3. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead well for 10 minutes. Now, knead the spring onions and parsley into the dough. Divide in half. Pat each half of the dough to an oval shape and place on a lightly oiled baking sheet. method tip
  4. Cover with oiled cling film or a damp tea towel and leave to rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Scatter the cheese over the bread and bake for 20 – 25 minutes. method tip
  6. Cool on a wire rack. Serve warm.
