Country Grain Bread with Figs Ingredients

450 grams Country Grain Bread Flour (Allinson) Country Grain Bread Flour (Allinson)
1.50 tsp Salt
4 Figs Ready to eat figs, roughly chopped
1.50 Easy Bake Yeast (Allinson) Easy Bake Yeast (Allinson)
2 tbsp Runny Honey
2 tbsp Butter Softened
1 Free Range Eggs (Happy Eggs) Beaten Free Range Eggs (Happy Eggs)
225 ml Water Warmed

How to make Country Grain Bread with Figs

  1. Put the flour, salt, figs and yeast into a bowl.
  2. Add the honey, butter, egg and water and mix to a soft dough.
  3. Turn onto a floured surface and knead for 10 minutes. method tip
  4. Shape into a round loaf shape or palce in a 700g loaf tin. Cover with a damp tea towel and leave to prove in a warm place for about an hour or until the dough has doubled in size. method tip
  5. Pre-heated the oven to 220°C/200°C Fan /Gas Mark 7. Remember the top tip of placing a tray of water in the bottom of the oven!
  6. After 10 minutes reduce the heat to 200°C/180°C fan/Gas Mark 6 and continue baking for a further 20 - 25 minutes.
