Easy Apple and Rhubarb Crumble Ingredients

540 grams Rhubarb canned
6 Apples eating
170 grams Fairtrade Demerara Sugar (Billington's) Fairtrade Demerara Sugar (Billington's)
170 grams Butter at room temperture
250 grams Plain White Flour (Allinson Nature Friendly) Plain White Flour (Allinson Nature Friendly)
100 grams Jordans Porridge Oats

How to make Easy Apple and Rhubarb Crumble

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C / Gas 4. method tip
  2. Peel, slice and remove the cores from the apples and place into an ovenproof dish that is at least 3 inch deep.
  3. Pour the contents of the canned rhubarb into the dish with the apples and mix together.
  4. Add one third of the sugar to the rhubarb and apples.
  5. To make the crumble, mix the butter / margarine with the flour in a dry bowl using your hands until you have a texture like breadcrumbs.
  6. Add the oats and the remaining sugar and mix together.
  7. Evenly spread the crumble mixture over the apple and rhubarb.
  8. Put this into the middle of your pre-heated oven for 30-40 mins.
  9. Recipe notes: When the crumble is cooked, leave it to cool for at least 15 minutes. Any crumble left over can be covered with tin foil and be kept in the fridge for a couple of days.
