750 grams Apples Or Pears, washed
2 tbsp Golden Granulated Sugar (Billington's) For The Fruit Golden Granulated Sugar (Billington's)
1 tsp Plain White Flour (Allinson Nature Friendly) For The Fruit Plain White Flour (Allinson Nature Friendly)
1 tbsp Cinnamon ground, For The Fruit
1 tsp Ginger ground, optional, For The Fruit
100 grams Plain White Flour (Allinson Nature Friendly) Oaty Crumble Topping Plain White Flour (Allinson Nature Friendly)
75 grams Butter unsalted, diced, for the oaty crumble topping
50 grams Golden Granulated Sugar (Billington's) Oaty Crumble Topping Golden Granulated Sugar (Billington's)
100 grams Jordans Natural Muesli, for the Oaty Crumble Topping

How to make Fruit Crumbles

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C/170°C fan/ 350°F. method tip
  2. For the fruit, dice and remove the core and seeds. Toss in the sugar, flour and cinnamon. If you are making the Stem Ginger Topping, add the ground ginger too. Put the fruit in a pan over a medium heat, and simmer for 10 minutes, until the fruit is just soft.
  3. Meanwhile, make your crumble topping. For all the toppings, mix together the flour and butter, and crumble between your fingers until the texture is like breadcrumbs. Stir in the sugar. method tip
  4. Stir in the remaining ingredients according to your chosen topping recipe.
  5. Spoon the fruit into an ovenproof dish. Spoon over the crumble topping, making sure that it is evenly spread. Bake for 30 minutes, until light golden. Serve with hot custard or cream
