Classic French Chocolate Mousse Ingredients

100 grams Dark Chocolate Chips (Silver Spoon Create) Dark Chocolate Chips (Silver Spoon Create)
2 Free Range Eggs (Happy Eggs) Free Range Eggs (Happy Eggs)
4 Egg Whites (Happy Eggs) Egg Whites (Happy Eggs)
1 tbsp Brandy or cointreau or strong esspresso coffee
100 ml Double Cream
Chocolate decorations (Silver Spoon Cake Craft) heart shapes, to decorate

How to make Classic French Chocolate Mousse

  1. Melt chocolate in a bowl over (but not touching) a pan of gently simmering water (or in a microwave) then set aside to cool slightly method tip
  2. Whisk together the whole eggs with the brandy, cointreau or cold coffee before beating in the chocolate
  3. In a clean bowl, whisk the egg whites until soft peaks form, then fold through the chocolate mixture until evenly combined. Spoon into individual glasses ramekins or cappuccino cups and chill for at least 1 hour method tip
  4. To decorate; lightly whip the cream until it just holds its shape, spoon a little onto each dessert and sprinkle with the chocolate hearts
