Cherry and Oat Loaf Ingredients

400 grams Country Grain Bread Flour (Allinson) Country Grain Bread Flour (Allinson)
50 grams Fine oatmeal
1.50 tsp Salt
2 tbsp Golden Caster Sugar (Billington's) Golden Caster Sugar (Billington's)
75 grams Ready to eat cherries Semi dried
1.25 tsp Easy Bake Yeast (Allinson) Easy Bake Yeast (Allinson)
3 tbsp Sunflower Oil
115 ml JUST MILK JUST MILK
115 ml Warm Water
egg wash, to glaze
1.50 tbsp Jumbo porridge oats

How to make Cherry and Oat Loaf

  1. Put the flour, oatmeal, salt, sugar, cherries and yeast into a bowl. method tip
  2. Mix to a soft dough with the oil, milk and water.
  3. Turn onto a floured surface and knead for 10 minutes. method tip
  4. Shape as desired and put into an appropriate greased tin. method tip
  5. Leave to prove until double in size then brush the loaf with egg glaze and sprinkle with oats. Preheated to 220°C/fan 200°C/Gas Mark 7
  6. Bake in an oven and immediately turn the heat down to 200°C/fan 180°C/Gas Mark 6.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes. method tip
