Ingredients
| 250 grams | Allinson Premium Wholemeal Very Strong Bread Flour | ![]() |
| 250 grams | Allinson Premium White Very Strong Bread Flour | ![]() |
| 1 ½ tsp | Salt | |
| 2 tsp | Ground Ginger | |
| 3 tbsp | Glace Ginger Chopped | |
| 1 | Orange zest | |
| 1 sachet | Allinsons Easy Bake Yeast 1 x 7g sachet | ![]() |
| 1 | Orange juice | |
| 60 ml | Butter melted | |
| 1 | Large Egg Beaten | |
| 170 ml | Milk | |
| 1 tbsp | Black Treacle | |
| 3 tbsp | Water |
Method

- Put the flours, salt, ground & glace ginger, orange rind and yeast into a bowl.
- Mix to a soft dough with the orange juice, butter, egg, milk, treacle and water.
- Turn onto a floured surface and knead for 10 minutes.
- Shape as desired and put into an appropriate greased tin.
- Leave to prove until double in size.
- Bake in an oven preheated to 220°C/fan 200°C/Gas Mark 7 and immediately turn the heat down to 200°C/fan 180°C/Gas Mark 6.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes.
