Ingredients

175 grams Allinson Country Grain Bread Flour
100 grams Allinson Premium Wholemeal Very Strong Bread Flour
1 tsp Sugar
1 tsp Salt
25 grams Wheatgerm
3 tbsp Maple Syrup
100 grams Pecan Nuts Chopped
1 sachet Allinsons Easy Bake Yeast 1 x 7g sachet
200 ml Milk Warmed
2 tbsp Butter Melted

Method

  1. Place all of the ingredients into a mixer with a dough hook attached.
  2. Mix to a soft dough and knead for 5 minutes.
  3. If mixing by hand, put the flours, sugar, salt, wheatgerm, syrup and nuts into a bowl. Sprinkle on the yeast and mix to a soft dough with the butter and milk. Knead on a floured board for 10 minutes.
  4. Place the bread mixture into a greased (35 x 11cm/13 x 4”) tin. 5. Leave to prove until double in size. Preheat the oven to 190°C/fan 170°C/Gas Mark 5 method tip
  5. Bake for 30 minutes. method tip
  6. Divide into 10 bars.
  7. Serve glazed with maple syrup.
