Welsh Bara Brith Ingredients
| 450 grams | Strong White Bread Flour (Allinson) | ![]() |
| 1 tsp | Sugar | |
| 1 tsp | Salt | |
| 1 tsp | Mixed Spice | |
| 50 grams | Light Muscovado Sugar (Billington's) | ![]() |
| 100 grams | Raisins | |
| 75 grams | Currants | |
| 50 grams | Mixed Peel | |
| 7 sachet | Easy Bake Yeast (Allinson) | ![]() |
| 1 | Happy Eggs Beaten | ![]() |
| 75 grams | Butter Melted | |
| 200 ml | JUST MILK Warmed | ![]() |
| 2 tbsp | Runny Honey To Glaze |

How to make Welsh Bara Brith

- Place all of the ingredients (except the honey) into a mixer with a dough hook attached.
- Mix to a soft dough and knead for 5 minutes.
- If mixing by hand, put the dry ingredients into a bowl and sprinkle on the yeast. Mix to a soft dough with the egg, butter and milk. Knead on a floured board for 10 minutes.
- Shape into a large circle and place onto a greased baking sheet.
- Leave to prove until double in size. Preheat the oven to 190°C/fan 170°C/Gas Mark 5
- Bake for 30 minutes.
- Glaze with the honey and serve while still warm.
