6 Allinson Light Wholemeal Bread Large slices
3 Free Range Eggs (Happy Eggs) Medium Free Range Eggs (Happy Eggs)
25 grams Butter
75 grams Golden Granulated Sugar (Billington's) Golden Granulated Sugar (Billington's)
0.50 tsp Ground Cinnamon

How to make Cinnamon Eggy Bread

  1. Follow the recipe for Allinson Light Wholemeal Bread.
  2. Stamp out 2 heart shapes with a cutter from each piece of bread. Break the eggs into a shallow bowl and lightly beat together with a fork.
  3. Heat the butter in a large heavy based frying pan. Quickly dip the bread into the egg to cover, then put straight into the hot frying pan. Cook for 1-2 minutes, then turn and cook for 1 more minute. method tip
  4. .Mix the golden granulated sugar and cinnamon together in a shallow bowl. Dip the fried eggy bread in the sugar and coat both sides. Serve whilst warm.

"Delicious, I can see this becoming a regular breakfast treat. I had to beat another egg to do all 6 slices though, and next time I would use caster sugar rather than granulated as I found it too 'gritty', but that's just personal preferance. "
