This Turkish Delight recipe is really easy and doesn’t need a sugar thermometer. The delicate flavour and aroma of the Nielsen Massey Rose Water is delightful. A great idea for a gift for Mother’s Day.

Turkish Delight Ingredients

25 grams Gelatine powdered
250 ml Water
4 tsp Rose Water (Nielsen-Massey) Rose Water (Nielsen-Massey)
450 grams Caster Sugar (Silver Spoon Homegrown) Caster Sugar (Silver Spoon Homegrown)
6 Pink Food Colouring drops of
4 tbsp Icing Sugar Shaker (Silver Spoon) Icing Sugar Shaker (Silver Spoon)
1 tsp Cornflour
Vegetable Oil for greasing

How to make Turkish Delight

  1. Lightly grease a 20x25cm baking tin method tip
  2. In a heavy based saucepan mix the gelatine, water and rose water then stir in the sugar. Heat gently, stirring all the time until the gelatine and sugar have completely dissolved. method tip
  3. Stop stirring and bring to the boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 25 minutes. Remove from the heat and stir in the pink colouring then leave to cool for about 5 minutes.
  4. Carefully pour into the prepared tin and leave to set overnight.
  5. When set cut into cubes in the tin, then mix the icing sugar and cornflour and toss the cubes in this mixture.
  6. The cubes can be stored wrapped in baking paper in an airtight container.
