Cherry Oat Crunchies Ingredients

75 grams Wholemeal Self Raising Flour (Allinson) Wholemeal Self Raising Flour (Allinson)
75 grams Rolled Oats
75 grams Demerara Sugar (Billington's) Demerara Sugar (Billington's)
100 grams Unsalted Butter Softened
100 grams Natural Glace Cherries (Billington's) Chopped Natural Glace Cherries (Billington's)

How to make Cherry Oat Crunchies

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 180°C (Gas Mark 4) Grease a shallow baking tin 28x18x4cm (11x7x1½)
  2. Mix the flour, oats and sugar in a bowl. Rub in the butter until the mixture resembles bread crumbs. method tip
  3. Evenly spread half the mixture over the base and gently press.
  4. Spread the cherries over the oaty base. Cover with the remaining oat mixture and press down.
  5. Bake for 25 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Leave to cool in the tin. Cut into 12 piece and serve.

"These are excellent for lunch boxes, I made these to last the week but they were that good they only lasted 2 days. I used Organic Rolled Oats for the recipe but found that I needed to make up half the mixture again, the receipt advises to place half the mixture in the tray, but there was not enough. Extra cooking time was not required."
