Bacon and Spinach Loaf Ingredients
| 450 grams | Very Strong Bread Flour (Allinson Premium White) | ![]() |
| 1 sachet | Easy Bake Yeast (Allinson) 1 x 7g sachet | ![]() |
| 1 tsp | Sugar | |
| 1 tsp | Salt | |
| 1 tsp | Nutmeg Grated | |
| 100 grams | Bacon chopped | |
| 200 grams | baby spinach leaves roughly chopped | |
| 15 ml | Olive Oil | |
| 150 ml | Warm Water warm | |
| 50 grams | Cheddar Cheese Grated | |
| 0.50 | Onion half a smalll onion, chopped |

How to make Bacon and Spinach Loaf

- Fry the bacon and onion for 5 minutes.
- Allow to cool.
- Place all of the ingredients (except the cheese) into a mixer with a dough hook attached.
- Mix to a soft dough and knead for 5 minutes
- If mixing by hand, put the flour, cooled bacon mixture, spinach, sugar, salt and nutmeg into a bowl.
- Add the yeast and mix to a soft dough with the water and olive oil.
- Knead on a lightly floured board for 10 minutes.
- Shape into a circle, score into 8 sections, sprinkle the cheese on top and place onto a greased baking sheet.
- Leave to prove until double in size. Preheat to 190°C/fan 170°C/Gas Mark 5
- Bake for 30 minutes.

"Very yummy loaf. To start with you dont think it will work but once kneaded feels right.. Leave it in the oven for about 10mins more then stated otherwise bits will remain doughy."
