Ingredients

450 grams Allinson Premium White Very Strong Bread Flour
1 sachet Allinsons Easy Bake Yeast 1 x 7g sachet
1 tsp Sugar
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Grated Nutmeg
100 grams Bacon chopped
200 grams Baby Spinach Leaves roughly chopped
15 ml Olive Oil
150 ml Water warm
50 grams Grated Cheddar Cheese

Method

  1. Fry the bacon and onion for 5 minutes.
  2. Allow to cool.
  3. Place all of the ingredients (except the cheese) into a mixer with a dough hook attached.
  4. Mix to a soft dough and knead for 5 minutes.
  5. If mixing by hand, put the flour, cooled bacon mixture, spinach, sugar, salt and nutmeg into a bowl.
  6. Add the yeast and mix to a soft dough with the water and olive oil.
  7. Knead on a lightly floured board for 10 minutes.
  8. Shape into a circle, score into 8 sections, sprinkle the cheese on top and place onto a greased baking sheet.
  9. Leave to prove until double in size. Preheat to 190°C/fan 170°C/Gas Mark 5
  10. Bake for 30 minutes. method tip
