Devonshire Splits Ingredients

250 grams Plain White Flour (Allinson Nature Friendly) Plain White Flour (Allinson Nature Friendly)
250 grams Very Strong Bread Flour (Allinson Premium White) Very Strong Bread Flour (Allinson Premium White)
1 tsp Salt
3 tbsp Golden Caster Sugar (Billington's) Golden Caster Sugar (Billington's)
60 ml Butter melted
3 tbsp Water warm
260 ml JUST MILK JUST MILK
1 sachet Easy Bake Yeast (Allinson) 1 x 7g sachet Easy Bake Yeast (Allinson)
1 Egg Wash

How to make Devonshire Splits

  1. Put the flours, salt, sugar and yeast into a bowl.
  2. Mix to a soft dough with the butter, water and milk.
  3. Turn onto a floured surface and knead for 10 minutes. method tip
  4. Divide the dough into 10 and shape each piece into a flat round bun.
  5. Place the buns on a greased baking sheet and cover with a tea towel. method tip
  6. Leave to prove until double in size. Preheated the oven to 200°C/fan 180°C/Gas Mark 6
  7. Brush with egg wash and bake in an oven for 15-20 minutes until golden. method tip
