These parmesan and sesame seed Danish pinwheels are fun to make and looks very impressive! Ideal to bake and share.

Ingredients

For the dough

  • 450g 16 oz Strong white bread flour (we use Allinson) Strong white bread flour
  • 150g 5⅜ oz Butter (unsalted) softened
  • 1tsp 1tsp Unrefined golden caster sugar (we use Billington's) Unrefined golden caster sugar
  • 1tsp 1tsp Salt
  • 1 1 Easy bake yeast sachet (7g)
  • 200ml 6⅞ fl oz Milk warmed
  • 1 1 Egg(s) (free range)

For the filling

  • 1tbsp 1tbsp Sunflower oil
  • 2 2 Onion(s) finely chopped
  • 50g 1⅞ oz Sesame seeds
  • 50g 1⅞ oz Parmesan

For the topping

  • 1tbsp 1tbsp Sesame seeds
  • 1tbsp 1tbsp Parmesan grated

The Method Enter Bake mode

  1. Classic mode Step 1

    Fry together the sunflower oil, onion and sesame seeds for 5 minutes. Set aside.

    • 1tbsp 1tbsp Sunflower oil
    • 2 2 Onion(s) finely chopped
    • 50g 1⅞ oz Sesame seeds
  2. Classic mode Step 2

    Put the flour into a bowl and rub in the butter. Stir in the sugar and salt and sprinkle on the yeast.

    Mix to a soft dough with the milk and egg. Then knead on a floured board for 10 minutes. Alternatively you could place all of the dough ingredients into a mixer with a dough hook attached and knead for 5 minutes.

    • 200ml 6⅞ fl oz Milk warmed
    • 1 1 Egg(s) (free range)
  4. Classic mode Step 4

    Roll the dough into a rectangle, sprinkle over the fried ingredients and the parmesan and roll up like a Swiss Roll.

    • 50g 1⅞ oz Parmesan grated
  5. Classic mode Step 5

    Cut into 12 slices and place onto a greased baking sheet. Add the toppings and leave until double the size. Preheat the oven to 190°C (fan 170°C/gas mark 5).

    Bake for 20 minutes.
