Ingredients

  • 200g 7⅛ oz Very strong wholemeal bread flour (we use Allinson) Very strong wholemeal bread flour
  • 200g 7⅛ oz Very strong white bread flour (we use Allinson) Very strong white bread flour
  • 1tsp 1tsp White caster sugar (we use Silver Spoon)
  • 1tsp 1tsp Salt
  • 1½tbsp 1½tbsp Cajun spice
  • 1tbsp 1tbsp Honey
  • 1 1 Red onion finely chopped
  • 1tbsp 1tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 1 1 Bacon rasher(s) chopped, cooked and cooled
  • 1 1 Easy bake yeast sachet Easy bake yeast sachet
  • 300ml 10⅛ fl oz Beer warmed

The Method Enter Bake mode

  1. Classic mode Step 1

    Place all of the ingredients into a mixer with a dough hook attached.

    • 200g 7⅛ oz Very strong wholemeal bread flour (we use Allinson) Very strong wholemeal bread flour
    • 200g 7⅛ oz Very strong white bread flour (we use Allinson) Very strong white bread flour
    • Unrefined golden caster sugar
    • 1tsp 1tsp Salt
    • 1½tbsp 1½tbsp Cajun spice
    • 1tbsp 1tbsp Honey
    • 1 1 Red onion finely chopped
    • 1tbsp 1tbsp Vegetable oil
    • 1 1 Bacon rasher(s) chopped, cooked and cooled
    • 1 1 Easy bake yeast sachet Easy bake yeast sachet
    • 300ml 10⅛ fl oz Beer warmed
  2. Classic mode Step 2

    Mix to a soft dough and knead for 5 minutes. If mixing by hand, put all the ingredients except the beer and yeast into a bowl.

    Sprinkle on the yeast and mix to a soft dough with the beer.

  4. Classic mode Step 4

    Knead on a lightly floured surface for 10 minutes.

    Shape into 6 large rolls and place each into a greased bun tin.

  6. Classic mode Step 6

    Cover and leave to prove until double in size. Preheat the oven to 200°C (180°C fan, gas mark 6).

  7. Classic mode Step 7

    Bake for 20 minutes.
