Whichever side of the Atlantic you’re on, we can all appreciate what delicious delicacies the USA has to offer. With a whole host of lip smacking American inspired bakes on our website, here are my top 5 US favourites to inspire you to embrace the United Cakes of America! 

 

New York Baked Cheesecake

This classic New York baked cheesecake is the untimate all American dessert -  Recipes vary, but our version uses cream cheese with Allinson plain white flour, Billington’s Unrefined golden caster sugar and Nielsen Massey Vanilla bean paste for that rich vanilla taste.

 

Chocolate Pretzel Cupcakes

If you’re looking for a dessert fix but don’t want an entire cake then this is the perfect solution. Thanks to the American love affair with the european pretzel, these mini hard pretzels originaed in the United States in 1850 and make an ideal cupcake topping with their delicious marriage in crunch and sweetness. We have paired ours with chocolate but mix and match toppings and let your creativity go wild, why not try Caramel & Sea Salt? 

 

Simple Key Lime Pie

Head south to the Florida Keys where you will find the official Florida state dessert - The Key Lime Pie. A perfect combination of sweetness & tartness, no list of American desserts would be complete without it. We’ve whipped up a miniature version using a much simpler recipe which only takes 20 minutes to prepare.

"Coming from a long line of bakers & cooks, making cakes is in my blood. My grandma taught me to bake from a young age & to this day her classic Victoria Sponge is still my go to recipe. My favourite thing about baking is finding new & quirky twists to baking classics, as well as seeing what trends are up & coming. As a designer I also have a weakness for all things 'pretty', especially show stopping cakes!"
