Great with all roasts, but particularly lovely with the end of year turkey, this easy bread sauce is the perfect accompaniment for the dinner table.

Method

  1. Stud the onion with the cloves.

    • 1 Onion (peeled)
    • 4 Cloves
  2. Pour the milk into a medium saucepan add the onion, pinch of salt, peppercorns and bay leaf.

    • Pinch Salt
    • 8 Peppercorns
    • 1 Bay Leaf
    • 570ml Milk (Whole)
  3. Bring the milk up to the boil, then remove from the heat for 10 minutes.

  4. Remove the peppercorns and the bay leaf, then add the butter and breadcrumbs and cook slowly for about 15 minutes until it is thick, stirring occasionally.

    • 100g Breadcrumbs
    • 30g Butter (Salted)
  5. Remove the onion and serve.
