About the bake

This reduced calorie beetroot relish is an ideal accompaniment to a plate of cheese and crackers.

  1. Step 1:

    Place all ingredients into a medium sized saucepan and stir over a medium heat until the honey dissolves.

  2. Step 2:

    Bring to the boil and reduce to a simmer, cook for about 20 minutes until most of the liquid has evaporated and you are left with a chutney style mixture.

  3. Step 3:

    Taste for seasoning and adjust if necessary.

  4. Step 4:

    Store in an airtight container and consume within 72 hours.


    • 300g Beetroot (cooked, cubed or thinly sliced)
    • 1 tbsp Honey
    • 50ml Cider vinegar
    • 10g Truvia calorie free sweetener
    • 1/4 tsp All spice
    • 1/4 tsp Cumin
    • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
    • 150ml Water
    • 1/2 tsp Salt


  • Medium sized saucepan
  • Small jam jars
