Depending on what type of ice cream maker you have you may need to put the canister into the freezer to begin with. If so make sure you place it in the freezer at least 24 hours before you want to use it. If your ice cream maker has a freezing unit within it you will not need to do this, just switch it on 10 minutes before you need to use it or as instructed in the manual. Make the ice cream custard following the recipe, when adding the hot cream to the mixture add it slowly so as not to scramble the egg mixture. When the mixture coats the back of a spoon pour it into the canister being careful not to overfill it. When your ice cream is ready place it in a polythene box to store in the freezer and eat within one week.
