When time has run away from you and you need a quick dinner - sometimes a frozen pizza is just the answer. But you don't need to rely on shop bought frozen pizzas - with just a bit of preparation you can have you very own homemade frozen pizza ready to pop in the oven at the drop of a hat. Not only will it save you some money (hopefully) but you will know exacly what has gone in to it and have it exactly as you like!

Method

  1. Step 1:

Pre-heat the oven to 220ºC/450ºF and pop your pizza stone or baking sheet in the middle of the oven.

  2. Step 2:

Roll out your pizza dough in to rounds to your desired thickness and place on a piece of parchment paper.

  3. Step 3:

Par-bake the pizzas for 3-5 minutes until the dough starts to turn fluffy & dry, but remains very pale.

  4. Step 4:

Let them cool completely after removing them from the parchment.

  5. Step 5:

Once they are cool top the pizzas with the toppings of your choice.

  6. Step 6:

Pop the pizzas back on the baking sheet and freeze, uncovered for around 3 hours until solid.

  7. Step 7:

Once they are fully frozen, wrap the pizzas first in cling film & then in some foil. This stops them from drying out in the freezer and means they can be kept there for up to 3 months.

  8. Step 8:

When it comes to the time you want to bake your delicious pizzas, simply preheat your oven to 220ºC/420ºF and let the baking stone or baking tray heat up. Unwrap the pizzas and bake for 8-10 minutes until the crust has darkened and the toppings are cooked through.

    Delicious.
