How to Shape a Cottage Loaf

The origin of a cottage loaf is unknown. People have speculated that the shape was developed originally to save 'floor space' in old fashioned bread ovens. A cottage loaf is characterised by it's shape: It's created from two round loaves, one on top of the other with the upper loaf being smaller. Sarah Cook demonstrates how to shape a cottage loaf.
