About the bake

This is a classic French Toast recipe and one of the easiest to make. Want to know the difference between Eggy Bread and  French Toast? Eggy Bread tends to be savoury and French Toast sweet. For Eggy Bread, think bacon or a fried egg as the filling, whilst French Toast tends to be berries with maple syrup or honey. You're winning either way! This dish is perfect for brunch at the weekend and is a doddle to make.

Method

  1. Step 1:

In a bowl, lightly beat the eggs together with the milk.

  2. Step 2:

Coat both sides of the bread slices thoroughly with the egg mixture (we recommend dipping).

  3. Step 3:

Heat a frying pan and add the butter. Once the butter has melted and started to fry, add your bread slice by slice frying for 1.5 minutes on each side until it turns a lovely golden brown colour.

  4. Step 4:

Pile the slices onto a plate and cover with fruit (we've used bananas and blueberries) and maple syrup and serve.
