We love a bit of festive knitwear, but we love an edible Christmas Jumper biscuit even more. The garish the better. Why not make your jumper cookies look even more realistic by creating a knitted effect. These quick decorating hacks will show you how.

Method

  1. Step 1:

Begin by cutting a jumper shape out of sugapaste icing, either using a cutter or freehand using a template. Secure this on to your biscuit by brushing the back of the sugar paste with apricot jam.

  2. Step 2:

Using a sharp knife score vertical lines across the jumper shape.

  3. Step 3:

Using the tip of your knife score small diagonal lines either side of the vertical lines (in opposite directions) this will give the knitted "stitch" pattern.

  4. Step 4:

Repeat this process until the whole of the jumper is covered in this pattern. You can then decorate with your Christmas design.

  5. Step 5:

Alternatively, break off small pieces of fondant and roll into thin sausages, pinching them together at the top.

  6. Step 6:

Twist the two pieces of sugar paste together until it forms a swirl effect.

  7. Step 7:

Stick each strand of sugar paste to your biscuit, side by side to create a 3D knitted effect.

  8. Step 8:

Repeat the process and add sleeves to your jumper design.
