Get ahead of the game by baking your cupcakes before you need them and storing them in the freezer. This works particularly well if you have to bake before they are needed or you simply like to have some for when the occasion rises.

Follow our guide to freezing cupcakes to make sure you are left with soft cupcakes that no-one would ever know had been frozen.

Method

  1. Step 1:

Bake the cupcakes as per the recipe and leave to cool completely.

  2. Step 2:

Wrap the cupcakes in cling film individualy.

  3. Step 3:

Place your individually wrapped cupckes in an airtight container, trying hard not to squash the cupakes in the process.

  4. Step 4:

When you're ready to eat the cupcakes, remove them from the freezer and remove the clingfilm. Let them come to room temperature and then you are free to decorate as you like.

They should store for up to 3 months in the freezer.
