Transform your basic buttercream with a citrus twist using natural fruit juice from oranges, lemons or limes. This simple addition will really lift the flavour of your buttercream. It's a really simple thing to do but makes a world of difference to cupcakes, celebration cakes or even a topping for a citrus loaf cake.
Beat the butter and sugar together until smooth, then add the vanilla extract.
Mix in the orange/lemon/lime juice depending on your taste preference.
