About the bake

Light muscovado sugar has a warm honey colour and creamy fudge flavour which makes it a perfect combination with bananas. Quick to make for mid week pudding!

    Method

    1. Step 1

      Preheat the oven to 190°C (fan 170°C, gas mark 5).

    2. Step 2

      Peel the bananas and slice them thickly.

    3. Step 3

      Mix them with half the sugar and all the spices.

    4. Step 4

      Spoon into a buttered shallow, ovenproof baking dish.

    5. Step 5

      In a mixing bowl rub the butter into the flour.

    6. Step 6

      Stir in the rest of the sugar, oats and walnuts.

    7. Step 7

      Sprinkle evenly over the bananas.

    8. Step 8

      Bake for about 30 minutes in the oven until the top is crisp and golden.

      • 125gButter (unsalted) 
      • 125gAllinson's Self Raising Flour

      • 50gWalnuts (chopped)

    Was very sceptical to make this as didn't know if my 8 year old would like it or not, unfortunately she didn't but me and hubby loved it.
