Combine the water, honey and sunflower oil and add to the flour mixture.
Ingredients for this step
Warm water(280ml)
Sunflower oil(1 tbsp)
Step 3
Mix until you have a soft dough and then knead by hand for 10 minutes or use the dough hook on your stand mixer.
Step 4
Turn out onto a floured surface and knead and form into a long oval. Place into a greased, 450g/1 lb loaf tin.

Cover with oiled clingfilm and set aside to rise for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size. The time may vary depending on the temperature of the room.

Preheat your oven to 220°c/200°c fan/Gas Mark 7.
Step 7
Once your oven has reached full temperature, place your loaf in the oven and immediately reduce the heat to 200°c/180°c fan/Gas Mark 6.
Step 8
Bake the loaf for 30 minutes.
Step 9
When the loaf is cooked it will sound hollow when the base is tapped.
Step 10
Leave the loaf to cool completely on a wire rack.

Tried this loaf today as a change from my usual Wholemeal loaf (which is perfect). Dough is bit sticky and as it rises it falls over on itself. Didn’t look great but tasted fantastic. What am I doing wrong?
