Rich, buttery and so cheesy, these make great canapés or are ideal for just an afternoon snack!

Method

  1. Set the oven to 190°C (fan 170°C, gas mark 5).

  2. Place the flour and butter into a bowl, rub the butter into the flour to make fine crumbs. Stir in the Cheddar and mustard powder and bring the dough together with your hands to make a soft dough.

  3. Place heaped teaspoonfuls on a baking tray, spaced a little apart so that the biscuits can spread. Place a pecan on each one and bake for 12-15 minutes until pale gold.

  4. Allow to cool for 10 minutes on the tray then move to a wire rack to finish cooling.
