About the bake

This spooky rocky road is perfect for Halloween. Instead of handing out sweets to the scary kids that knock on your door, give them a piece of homemade rocky road. You may have them knocking twice!

15Prep Time

  1. Step 1:

Line a 20cm x 20cm square brownie tin with greased proof paper.

  2. Step 2:

Using a bowl over a pan of hot water, melt the dark chocolate and butter together.

  3. Step 3:

Once melted, remove the bowl and place on a heat proof mat. Place your digestive biscuits in a sandwich bag and using a rolling pin, smash them to small chunks around 1-2cm in diameter.

  4. Step 4:

Pour the broken biscuits together with the marshmallows into the melted chocolate mixture. Stir this gently as to not melt the marshmallows. Once everything is fully coated, pour into your greased baking tray.

  5. Step 5:

Melt your orange and green candy melts in little bowls using the same method you used to melt the dark chocolate. Once melted, use a spoon to drip the orange candy melts onto the rocky road using a sweeping motion from side to side. Once you're happy, turn the rocky road 90'c and use the green candy melts to do exactly the same.

  6. Step 6:

Roll out the black fondant icing using a rolling pin and then use a bat cutter to make individual bats. Roll out the orange fondant to create mini pumpkins. Place these onto your rocky road.

  7. Step 7:

Place the eyes, teeth and smarties over the top to create a really decorative fun rocky road. Chill in the fridge for at least a couple of hours until your chocolate has completely set.

  8. Step 8:

Cut into square pieces once it's ready and serve!
