On trend

About the bake

Celebrations are not just for us humans, our dogs love a party too. So let's pamper our pooches with their own delicious Pawsecco Dog Friendly Cupcakes.

This dog cupcake recipe, is sure to get tails wagging packed with all their favourite yummies, bananas, oats and peanut butter frosting.

As with all indulgent treats we would recommend consuming in small quantities in line with a balanced doggy diet. Ensure that the peanut butter that you are using is free from Xylitol and all ingredients are suitable for your dogs. Remember to remove the paper muffin case too, before your pups dig in.

Method

  1. Step 1:

Preheat the oven to 150 degrees C fan assisted and line a muffin tray with paper muffin cases

  2. Step 2:

Mash the ripe bananas in a small bowl

  3. Step 3:

Add the bananas along with the peanut butter, eggs and honey to a large bowl and beat together with a stand mixer or hand whisk

  4. Step 4:

Add the Pawsecco (or alternative dog friendly wine/beer) and mix again

  5. Step 5:

In a separate bowl combine the flour and oats then add this to the wet ingredients. Thoroughly combine.

  6. Step 6:

Divide the pupcake mix evenly between the muffin cases

  7. Step 7:

Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 20-25 minutes or until an inserted skewer comes out clean

  8. Step 8:

Once baked remove from the oven and allow to cool on a wire rack

  9. Step 9:

Begin making the frosting by adding the cream cheese and peanut butter to a large bowl

  10. Step 10:

    Whisk together until combined

  11. Step 11:

Add the frosting to a piping bag with your choice of nozzle and ice the cupcakes once they have completely cooled. We used a large open star piping nozzle to pipe the cupcakes as the nut pieces in the peanut butter will block a smaller nozzle.

  12. Step 12:

Place a dog bone treat on top of each cupcake and serve

  13. Step 13:

Store in an air tight container in the fridge and consumer within 2 days.
