About the bake

Delicious cheese straws made all the more exciting by being in the shape of Pudsey bear! Why not make these for your next bake sale?

  1. Step 1:

    Preheat the oven to 200°C (fan 180°C, gas mark 6) and grease three baking trays.

  2. Step 2:

    Mix the butter, flour and salt until you have a breadcrumb like consistency. (Mix in mustard or chilli powder if using).

  3. Step 3:

    Add cheese and stir well. Add eggs on at a time and knead dough into a ball.

  4. Step 4:

    Roll dough out on a floured surface to a 1.25cm thick. Use a Pudsey Bear cutter and place on baking tray 2-3cm apart. Bake for 10-15 minutes.


    • 120g Butter (unsalted)
    • 450g Cheddar cheese (grated)
    • 250g Allinson's Plain White Flour
    • 2 Egg(s) (free range)
    • 1pinch Salt
    • 0.5 tsp Mustard powder (or chilli powder)
