Why not try making some apricot jam, try something different away from the usual summer fruits.

  1. Step 1:

    Stone and cut the apricots into small pieces, and crush thoroughly, do not peel the fruit.

  2. Step 2:

    Put the fruit in a pan with the sugar, heat gently stirring occasionally until the sugar has dissolved.

  3. Step 3:

    Bring quickly to a full rolling boil and boil rapidly for 1 minute, stirring occasionally.

  4. Step 4:

    Remove from the heat and stir in the apple pectin.

  5. Step 5:

    Skim, pot and cover in the usual way.


  • For The Jam

    • 900g Apricot(s) (ripe)
    • 1.35kg Silver Spoon White Granulated Sugar
    • 125ml Apple pectin


  • Large preserving pan
  • Sterilised jars and lids
