Krispie cakes are the ultimate child friendly recipe - simple to bake, using everyday ingredients in your cupboards and tastes delicious. This recipe takes the humble krispie cake to a whole new level by incorporating Oreos and marshmallows.

Method

  1. Step 1:

    In a large bowl, crush the oreo cookies into small chunks. You can do this by hand or with the end of a rolling pin.

  2. Step 2:

    Add in the Rice Krispies and 50g of marshmallows and mix together.

  3. Step 3:

    Melt the butter in a large saucepan over a medium heat. 

  4. Step 4:

    Add the remaining marshmallows and salt into the melted butter and continue to stir until the marshmallows are completely melted. 

  5. Step 5:

    Combine the marshmallow mixture with the Rice Krispies and Oreos in the large bowl and mix together until the krispies are completely covered.

  6. Step 6:

    Pour the mixture into your square baking tin and press down to flatten, ensuring that all of the corners are filled. Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes until you are ready to slice into squares and serve.

    • 70g Butter (unsalted)
    • 450g Mini marshmallows (white & pink)
    • 125g Rice krispies cereal
    • 1 pack Oreo cookies
    • A pinch Salt
