Krispie cakes are the ultimate child friendly recipe - simple to bake, using everyday ingredients in your cupboards and tastes delicious. This recipe takes the humble krispie cake to a whole new level by incorporating Oreos and marshmallows.

  1. In a large bowl, crush the oreo cookies into small chunks. You can do this by hand or with the end of a rolling pin.

    • 1 Pack Oreo Cookies
  2. Add in the Rice Krispies and 50g of marshmallows and mix together.

    • 125g Rice Krispies Cereal
    • 50g Mini Marshmallows (White & Pink)
  3. Melt the butter in a large saucepan over a medium heat.

    • 70g Butter (Unsalted)
  4. Add the remaining marshmallows and salt into the melted butter and continue to stir until the marshmallows are completely melted.

    • 400g Mini Marshmallows (White & Pink)
    • A Pinch  Salt
  5. Combine the marshmallow mixture with the Rice Krispies and Oreos in the large bowl and mix together until the krispies are completely covered.

  6. Pour the mixture into your square baking tin and press down to flatten, ensuring that all of the corners are filled. Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes until you are ready to slice into squares and serve.

not so fussed on these. i was disappointed as mine didn't really look like the picture. when melting my marshmallow, the colour was very pink rather than white so i think separating the pink and white marshmallows is key. perhaps the recipe should state this as the colour was off putting against the colour of the oreos! wasn't a lot of flavour going on either..
