About the bake
These delicious Belgian waffles make a delightful indulgent breakfast or a sweet treat for dessert. You could even cut out the heart shapes to serve a romantic breakfast in bed for your loved one. Drizzle with melted chocolate, dust with icing sugar or serve with a scoop or two of ice cream - they are so moreish that you will want to eat them all.
Method
Step 1:
Sift together the flour, baking powder and cinnamon in a large bowl then stir in the sugar.
Step 2:
Separate the eggs, beat the yolks in a small bowl then add the milk, melted butter and vanilla extract.
Step 3:
Gradually pour in to the dry mix and whisk together until smooth.
Step 4:
In a food mixer, beat the egg whites until they form stiff peaks then carefully fold in to the batter mix.
Step 5:
Ladle a spoonful or two into the centre of a pre-heated, lightly grilled waffle maker griddle and leave to cook for 1-2 minutes or until golden brown.
Step 6:
Serve warm drizzled with melted chocolate, fruit and dusted with icing sugar.

- 210g Billington's Unrefined Golden Caster Sugar
- 4 tsp Baking powder
- 2 Egg(s) (free range)
- 350ml Milk (whole)
- 230g Butter (unsalted) (melted & cooled)
- 1 tsp Nielsen-Massey Vanilla Extract
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 280g Allinson's Plain White Flour
For the Decoration
- 100g Dark chocolate
- Dusting of Silver Spoon Icing Sugar
- Handful of Berries (fresh)
