This quick mug cake recipe can be filled and topped with your favourite chocolate and is sure to be gooey, rich and ready to eat in less than a couple of minutes.
Why not smoother in Biscoff Spread or Nutella? Or, if you're feeling extra indulgent hide a Lindt Lindor Truffle in the centre for the ultimate melt-in-the-middle mug cake centre. Yum.
*Please note that all microwaves are different and therefore the cooking time can vary. This mug cake was cooked using a 1250W microwave and took 1 minute on full power. Depending on your microwave the mug cake may take more or less time. The mug cake is ready when it has risen and has started to pull away from the edge of the mug.
Method
Step 1:
Place the flour, sugar and cocoa powder in a microwaveable mug and stir together until well mixed.
Step 2:
Stir in the oil and boiling water and stir together until the mixture is smooth.
Step 3:
For the Nutella mug cake: Spoon the Nutella into the middle of the mixture
For the Biscoff mug cake: Spoon the Biscoff Spread into the middle of the mixture
For the Lindt mug cake: Push the Lindt Lindor Truffles into the middle of the mixture.
Step 4:
Spoon the cake mixture over the filling so it’s concealed.
Step 5:

My daughter just made this for me and I was very pleasantly surprised. Really nice with ice-cream and clotted cream
The perfect recipe for that super quick chocolate fix. Ready in next to know time and tasted the same as an oven baked cake. Delicious served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Easy, tasty and comforting, exactly what I needed after a hard day 🙂
Really delicious
So yummy! And a real melt in the middle mug cake which I haven’t found anywhere else!
