These gluten free scones are so simple to make and they taste delicious too!

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 220°C (200°C fan, gas mark 6).

  2. Place the flour and baking powder into a bowl. Rub in the butter until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs, then stir in the sugar.

  3. Lightly beat together the egg and milk. Add this to the flour mixture and stir to form a soft dough.

  4. Turn the mixture onto a very lightly dusted work surface knead into a circle about 3-4cm thick. Using a round cutter, cut the dough into 8-9 scones.

  5. Place the scones on a baking tray and out into the centre of a preheated oven for about 15-18 minutes. Remove when golden in colour. Cool and serve with jam and clotted cream.
