This delicious bread has the flavour of a sourdough without having to make a complicated sour dough starter!  

Method

  1. Place all the ingredients in a large mixing bowl and mix to make a soft, smooth dough. Knead for 5 minutes in an electric mixer, or for 10 minutes by hand until the dough is elastic.

  2. Shape the dough into a circle, cut one line down the middle and 4 lines off this on each side.

  3. Place onto a greased baking sheet and leave to prove until double in size. Meanwhile preheat the oven to 190°C (fan 170°C, gas mark 5).  

  4. Bake for 30 minutes.

    tried this for the first time had to add more water to get a dough but overall the taste is pretty good and a lot simpler than a traditional sourdough so 4 out of 5 happy baking 🍞🎂🤗
